- Costapalamte leaf, 1" costa, spineless petiole
- Usually stemless, 6-8 leaf in a rosette
- Erect flower stalks 6-8' tall above leaves in summer
- Round black fruit in autumn

Notes: Native to the gulf south, the Dwarf Palmetto thrives in wet and swamp areas. Generally considered an indicator of such conditions although will survive in dry soils. Nursery availability is limited and native plants transplant poorly due to a deep tap root. |
